New Dow Chemical venture to bring 800 jobs to southeastern Michigan

In my eyes this deal is exponentially better than getting the VW plant. Is the state finally realizing that the "Detroit way" is dead?

Eight hundred, high-paying, white-collar jobs is a great boost to Metro Detroit. I'd hope that this is just the start of the Middle East connecting with Metro Detroit's large Arab American population and talent.

The Dow Plan is certainly a great deal for some. I have decided to relocate elsewhere. There is much work to be done in Michigan (Detroit) and I am not willing to gamble with my future or with the future of my kids. Let us all hope that Lansing does not scare Dow away before they break ground. My guess is that most of these jobs will not go to Michigan residents.

ok, so you joined this forum to dump on Detroit and tell a bunch of strangers that you're moving to Memphis? I bet everyone in Memphis will love you, you seem to be such a great person.

Anyway, this is definitely great news.
