DJP to Create Business Incubator

The Downtown Jackson Partners instend to create a business incubator which would spur development along the important west Capitol Street corridor and around the King Edward and the new convention center. Before this can happen, the funds must be found. Money allocated for Katrina recovery is still available, but not for too much longer. Whatever isn't used will be returned to Washington. Therefore, the applications are being put through post haste. This are is crucial to the successful redevelopment of the downtown business core, connecting as it will, the farish Street area and the blocks around the convention center. it is more than likely that little else but the facades of many of the commercial buildings along capitol Street can be saved, but rescuing them is imperative. The DJP hopes to have the funding in place before the end of the year. If all goes as planned, the area will see a significant change.
