New Townhouses on McBee Ave

Tom Croft is applying for a variance on the property at the intersection of McBee Ave and McDaniel Ave in downtown. He want to change the set back to allow for the units to be closer to the street.

These units will sit where the large blue house is located now. Does anyone have any information on this development? It looks like about 10 units.

from the plan it looks like any existing buildings will be demo'ed and new structures put up (looks like 4 buildings).

is this the house that used to be the costume shop years ago and caught on fire?

This looks like a good project. I'm usually against tearing down anything that is old, however, this may be a good case for an exception. I like rear-loaded townhomes, and it seems to be an appropriate density for that area. As always, I'll hold my final opinion until its done. I hope that Council will give them the variance.
