Another idea for Consolidation

There is much talk (as well as in Buffalo and Louisville just did it) about consolidating the county with the city--after the louisville model. But this is very interesting, it basically encompases the old "steel valley" highly urbanized--though balkanized--industrial neighborhoods. This would throw a wrench into metro consolidation, BUT create the third largest Pennsylvania city! Supporters of this plan are saying that it would help bring more $$$$ and influence to the blighted region south of the city, and make Pittsburgh the new "twin cities".

I would rather see city/county consolidation!

I like the idea. It isn't as good as a complete city/county consolidation, but it is a step toward that, I think.

I don't think a city/county consolidation is necessary, but some degree of consolidation is.
