Looks nice. I like the new axis, and the general plan for expansion. Did they say the time frame for all of this? 20 years?

 

I'd like to know more about what all of that "mixed use" is going to be. It doesn't seem to be arranged very well, but maybe there's something informing that part.

 

The arena looks rather large. I'm wondering what the capacity is and if it could be a potential venue for concerts/shows.

USC Upstate recently released a new Master Plan for their campus.  Here's the website with a cool video.  In the short term, it appears the focus is on a Library Annex, a Campus Life Center expansion, and a new Nursing building.  However, a very interesting item mentioned is a new Convocation Center.  They mention needing state, county, and corporate support.  Could this be the "Spartanburg Convention Center" that the SC House budget put aside $6 million for?  I'd prefer it to be downtown, but being near campus could help spur development at Milliken Village.

@Spartan I think it's a 10-year plan, as that's what their previous one was (actually 1997-2010: including on-campus housing, athletic facilities, Health Ed Complex, and The George).  No clue about funding.  This seems to be early in the process, as the website has few details.  Hopefully more info will follow in the coming weeks.

I think the mixed-use stuff is extremely place-holder-y.  Though the road infrastructure beyond the arena closely matches the site plan for Milliken Village...

The arena does look quite large.  Maybe 10k capacity?  Hope we get more details soon.
