Barnes and Thornburg, one of the largest law firms in the Midwest, based in Indianapolis, is growing for the second time since opening an office here in Grand Rapids in 2003. Originally based in the Campau Square building with just two attorneys, and then three suites in the Frey Building at 300 Ottawa, they are now looking at taking over the top two floors of the National City building at 171 Monroe Ave.

They have a request before the Zoning Board to add a sign to the Eastern exterior of the National City Building.
