I-85 finally repaved from mile 209-VA state line

When I left Greensboro to go to VA beach last weekend, I am finally happy that NCDOT is finally repaving the Interstate from Mile 209 to VA state line. Before the repaving, the road was rough concrete with many potholes on it... the ride is smooth from Henderson to VA state line. NCDOT is now putting new concrete from Henderson southward though. but i must say that it is ABOUT time!

Hmm - long overdue; that was always a really run-down stretch of highway, always far better maintained on the VA side of the border. I wonder if they are rebuilding the roadbed and fixing the concrete, or just slapping new asphalt on top of the old dilapidated concrete. If it's the latter, look for the road to be run down again within a year or two.
