Now I know what that property was. It was a building that a manufactur closed up and ended up becoming a major transit hub. It has never been extremely busy. This new company is probally a better fit. As for the hub that should be further east by a half a mile. The good thing is that there is a rail line next to this building which can also help things out for them. As for the light rail its a rapid bus service that will wait for nothing but it has smart technology built it. If you are talking about where they are presently at I am not sure.

yeah I didnt know where they presently at. I do know that only transit system that is close to being put in place is the Division Ave to Medical Hill and back to Central St, Rapid Bus system. So anything else is just conjecture IMHO. As for the operations at the new location, I think with a rail line next to it and 131 also it is by and large a perfect property for them.

Well I think this is just a non story IMHO. They bought the property and I doubt they will move anything around. Its more to do with just expanding their services. The thing I noticed in all of these facilities of theres is that fact they have a rail line next to or nearby. Outside of that I dont see them closing any facility.

You've got a few too many participles going there aowwt. :)

I think PR-15 meant is that the current Padnos operations South of GVSU would make a great spot for a light rail/commuter rail central station, as it has about 4 or 5 different rail lines converging near it. At least, I think that's what he meant.

Actually, they're probably just expanding their metal recycling operation, as the cost of steel is skyrocketing.

PR-15 has never been a reliable source of information about anything to anyone (and also likes referring to himself in the third person).

My post was more of a wish list for the dt Padnos facility...1. central light rail terminal 2. gvsu expansion

But my crazy wishes have come true in the past...like wanting an unknown, inexperienced politician who is good at field dressing a moose run for VP...sometimes I hit the lottery and it just seems like I'm spooky spot on.

I also like having GRDAD interpret my posts...it keeps him busy.

I don't have any inside info but I'm guessing they are going to move the plastics recycling there. It is literally bursting at the seams at the Wealthy Street facility. The plastics facility used to process cardboard / paper. They moved that to the old Haven-Busch building in Grandville and have filled that large building. My guess, plastics at 44th and they'll fill that building. Also, the new SPUI at 44th & 131 will make the intersection flow smoother and the building access better (and raise the value of the property).
