Broughton St. streetscape improvements

A streetscape improvement plan for 12 blocks of Broughton St. was developed by a firm hired by the city. Implementation of the plan is estimated to cost $4 million, and $500,000 was secured by March of this year.

Does anyone know the current status of this project?

Some of the elements included in the plan:

• brick pavers replace concrete sidewalks

• tree plantings

• new street lights

• traffic lights standardized on masts

• bike racks

• kiosks for tourists

• new pedestrian crosswalks and refurbishing of existing crosswalks
