took me a minute to figure out if it was all public knowledge or whatever (I work at UTC and dont want to get in trouble)

The buildings locations are available in a map that is in the PDF linked to the article in thr courant.

the HQ is right in the middle of the campus... Neither are part of the Rentschler development.

Cant blame UTC for that once, they have tons of land and might as well keep it on their own campus

map is on page 2 of the PDF

Cohen Reznik moving downtown...

This is great news, not just because it is happening but also because it is not the leaked info about 200 odd workers moving downtown from a few weeks ago...

So there is a chance that another 200 will be coming downtown..

Heck, 200 might be moving out as well though, so you never know :)

Hartford Top 10 for fans of Reggae and Blues, interesting. Must be a way to make $$$ off of that (Black-Eyed Sally's, etc etc etc)

I actually like both genres pretty well too. I've thought that there should be a large West Indian themed restaurant with live music, etc. downtown for a long time. Something that would appeal to all demographics, not just a hard core dancehall reggae type of spot, a laid-back type place where the sounds of Bob Marley would set the mood while you dine on contemporary interpretations of island favorites.

as a guy who spends a good ammount of time in Jamaica for work and of course lives here I have to say the connections are amazing.

So many people in my office in MBJ have friends and relatives living in Hartford.

Also, some resturants are actually located in both places.  (chanins)

My only issue with Hartford patties is that sometimes they are too bready, meaning not enough meat.

it all depends though.  The mini patties are the worst for that, and it takes away my enjoyment.  Also many commercially made patties up here are less spicy.  that is because thats how they order em though for a more mass market appeal.

when you get the legit ones that are spicy and not cheap with the meat, they are comperable with anything I have had in jamaica

Scotts is probably best here

One of the Hartford bakeries supplies the patties for most of NY.  I remember getting them in dellis on Long island as a kid and reading "made in Hartford" pressed right into the pattie

Interesting rumors have now made it to the front page of the courant

http://touch.courant.com/#section/2224/article/p2p-83550132/

2 different analysts speculate the Aetna is extremely close to buying a major rival

one rumors are for

Cigna

Humana

Centene

both analysts pick Aetna as the buyer

Both also list Cigna as a possible target and then each with one of the other 2 companies

If Aetna bought Cigna, that would be very bad for the area in my opinion

But buying Humana would be massive

buying centene less so

here is how they stack up

Aetna 38.9 Billion

Cigna 33.8 Billion

Humana 26.0 Billion

Centene 8.1 Billion

it seems almost insane to think of Aetna buying CIGNA simply due to their relatively close size.

Even Humana would be a blockbuster deal

This is interesting I work at Aetna no one is taking about  another acquisition. They are still figuring things out with Coventry's acquisition back in 2012.

This is getting interesting, and actually a bit scary

http://www.businessinsider.com/r-anthem-cfo-says-insurer-could-make-meaningful-acquisition--2015-5

Anthem is now talking about a transformative acquisition.

They mention Humana and CIGNA as the big targets but then list smapper ones

Humana has a market capitalization of $26.5 billion and Cigna is worth $34.3 billion.

There is also a field of smaller Medicaid providers that are acquisition targets, according to analysts. These include Molina Healthcare Inc , WellCare Health Plans Inc , Health Net Inc and Centene Corp . Their market capitalizations range from $3.5 billion to $8.3 billion.

the real big thing is what happens to CIGNA

Id an ideal world, We would see Aetna buy Humana and Cigna not get bought or even buy one of the smaller targets such as Centene

hopefully Anthem is forced to sit on the ssidelines and maybe just pick up a small player
