Hi, guys! I often feel that the Triad doesn't get much respect or favorbility, especially in comparision to other American cities like Atlanta, New York, or even Charlotte. How do you rate the Triad in notoriety, entertainment options, and quality of living? On a scale of 1 - 10, one being the worst and ten being the best, rate the Triad. What could the Triad do to secure itself better in the national and international markets and scene?

I think the Triad is often cast in the shadow of Charotte and the Triangle, and that it does indeed have a lot to offer. One has to look at it this way, too, though... the Triad is a little more sleepy than Charlotte and the Triangle. Part of it comes down to the Triangle's factor of being a strong medicine and educational center and Charlotte's strong banking sector, whereas Greensboro/W-S/High Point were based on industries that are dying... textiles, tobacco and furniture. Granted, new industries such as biotechnology are coming to the region and a 'transportation hub' is being created in the Triad as well, it still has not experienced the boomtown status of CLT and RDU. It's hard to say what the Triad could do to secure itself better in the markets but who knows what will happen with the way the economy is these days. Quality of living is pretty reasonable here, not outrageously expensive and enough bang for your buck. :)
