Columbus Gas Prices

Can anyone tell me why the price of gas is so much higher than other parts of Georgia? For example: in Newnan right now gas is only $1.88. A couple of weeks ago when gas was still $2.15 in Columbus it was only $2.03 in La Grange.

I do not know for sure, but this is just my opinion about it. I think its because of Columbus' limited access by Interstates. If you ever travel rural roads you'll note that gas prices get higher the further you get away from a interstate highway. With I-185 being the only Interstate in the area and goes nowhere but Lagrange to Ft. Benning gasoline retailers feel they can charge a little more. While the states other metropolitan areas have major interstate coverage there prices tend to be lower.
