1) Full service grocery for Division and Wealthy.

2) BRT bus line construction to begin. And yes more lines to be considered.

3) An Arby's restaurant (and I agree that Quizno's should be open later).

4) Free parking in lots and ramps. (I can dream can I?)

5) Family restaurant (like Perkins) at Division and Fulton. The old J.A. building should be demolished. Great location for new apartments and condo's that are going up in the area.

Echoing others' thoughts and adding a few of my own...

1) Calvin College announces plans to renovate a building in the Heartside neighborhood into some sort of off-campus living arrangement (Sorry, I'm not an insider who knows something).

2) Recreating the Coit Avenue bridge over 196 into a more pedestrian friendly space. I really liked some of the concepts for this idea posted in another thread.

3) Serious designs/concepts released concerning a downtown ballpark.

4) Plans for a couple mid-sized hotels in downtown to fill in a few gaps.

5) Bike lanes painted somewhere in the city. None of this "mixed use lane" crap!

6) BRT & streetcar plans move forward.

7) Grocery store plans near DT.

8) Movement on the B.O.B. addition/neighbor project.

9) Another record year for The Rapid, followed by plans to extend service.

10) Grand River work - extend walkways and attempt to open up the river to boating/kayaking.

  • large company to move downtown.

  • Continuing efforts to remain a hot spot for LEED and renewable energy

  • Continuing growth of medical hill

By the way, is there anyway we could leave those construction cranes in the sky after construction. Architecturally speaking, they add so much to the skyline.
