Darla Moore has done so much for Lake City.   It is really looking good DT and Main St.  Time to put some attention to McNair Blvd. though.

Yes, Lake City's downtown is interesting with a mix of every day need shops (meat market, produce, clothing), galleries and local restaurants not related to chains that overwhelm the majority of Florence.  What's great is every thing is walkable and close together.  Moore has breathed new life into a town that used to be seedy...but always had potential. I noticed that dangerous Night Street no longer has those rundown all-night bars and dance halls. One country-corner store  and a few detached houses remained in a clean up block not far from the heart of downtown. Rumors are Moore wants that whole area including Elm Street where a friend lives and refuses to sell …
