Kingsburg, The Hours

"Dear Leonard. To look life in the face, always, to look life in the face and to know it for what it is. At last to know it, to love it for what it is, and then, to put it away. Leonard, always the years between us, always the years. Always the love. Always the hours.
-Virginia Woolf

"Let the stormy clouds chase.
Everyone from the place
Come on with the rain
I've a smile on my face
I walk down the lane
With a happy refrain
Just singing,
singing in the rain
Dancing in the rain
la ri la la ri la
- Gene Kelly, I'm Singing in the Rain

good morning vicupstate,

yes, the bobcat was a delight to see, though I didn't notice him or her at first since I was shooting after baby pine trees when I stumbled upon something moving out of the corner of my eye … i'm not sure, but I think his paw was caught in a trap, so I called animal control to investigate since I was so worried about him and couldn't see how to help him get out of it.

the area is in city of Florence off of S. Irby Street near Julia Theatre and down a public dirt road covered in white rocks just north of Jeffries Creek (in my Florence neighborhood) ...behind an attractive but abandoned restaurant that looks like something out of Sea Ranch in Sonoma county, California. I love it... I hope someone re-redevelops it and it's not torn down...

"Never gonna grow up (Whoa-oh)
Never gonna slow down (Whoa-oh)
We were shinin' like lighters in the dark
In the middle of a rock show (Whoa-oh)
We were doin' it right (Whoa-oh)
We were comin' alive (Whoa-oh)
Yeah, caught in a southern summer, barefoot, blue jean night

"Life imitates art far more than art imitates Life. To refrain from imitation is the best revenge. Well, I'm going up and up and up - and nobody's going to pull me down!

Old Enceladus, Geneviève Triangle in green

"This is their city! These are their old haunts,-these old streets and old houses and old palaces and theatres and churches and parks in which they lived, studied, painted, planned, dreamed. Wonderful! To be in this glorious air, here and now! All my days and nights there were as dreams, truly. that I have thought unceasingly of ever since

"Quiet City"
-by American composer Aaron Copland who began work on Quiet City in 1939 and completed it two years later. A lonely trumpet and an English horn, backed by hushed strings, offer an ode to New York. ... Quiet City was music that Aaron Copland wrote for playwright Irwin Shaw.

"I've paid my dues
Time after time
I've done my sentence
But committed no crime
And bad mistakes
I've made a few
I've had my share of sand kicked in my face
But I've come through
We are the champions, my friends
And we'll keep on fighting 'til the end
-Queen, WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS
