Little Florence has greatly improved with less deserted blocks & torn down abandoned houses...  Sidewalks east of Irby Street could stand more love, improved lighting for night owls and a real grocery store .  Otherwise, I like where "the city of character" is going . . .

Florence Under Construction

When the Saints Go Marching In:   As many new businesses of coffee shops and restaurants and cafes and art galleries and specialty shops and women and men boutiques are taking shape in restored beautiful old buildings in downtown Florence, rooftop bars and brand new modern buildings are rising beside the old ones along with a slew of vibrant newcomers who keep marching into City of Florence, SC.

Finding ex-classmate's grave...

WILLIE MACK LARRIMORE

Mack died much younger than we are now. In High School, he was tall and burly, stormy and German-looking, handsome with piercing blue eyes.  He was the first guy in our class to wear a full beard which was during our senior year.  He is buried here at Florence National Cemetery on National Cemetery Road...
