FYI - Just posting a few screenshots of Tracy Dodson presentation to City Council on slightly expanding the Tax Increment Grant (TIG) for this project due to the Developer endeavoring to add a few smaller adjacent lots to the Project.  She said they’re interested with incorporating some level of Senior Living to the site.  Take a look...

No on the hospitals but not sure on the medical office buildings.  Give me an address on a Atrium medical office building and I can look it up.

Looks like a Tesla SuperCharger station will be coming to Target Midtown likely this year.

at 6:00 the list of Targets that will get Tesla SuperChargers includes T2244 Target in Charlotte, which is the Midtown store.

It's not an expansion per se.  Carolina's rehab already exists, Atrium is building a new one because the existing one is where they will build a new bed tower for CMC.  There will also likely be a need to expand rehab in the future the old building location is rather constrained  by CMC, and the CMC HVAC and power plant, so a new building will allow room for expansion.  The expansion will come when CMC builds a new bed tower at the current CR site.

CMC/Atrium has really nice buildings.  The old Presbyterian building is really nice too, though I’ve never been inside of it.

It took me years to realize At Home was formally Garden Ridge, which I thought had simply gone out of business at some point.

interesting and it should do well.  At Home Garden Ridge is a great store 2 in the market now Concord Mills Blvd and Pineville.

Hmm another failed/stalled Levine development site looks like something is going to happen.  Levine sold it (pretty sure he is not involved anymore) to an LLC for 2.9 M in 2019 and recent survey stakes tell me that something might going to be happening here and it will be vertical has to be.  Once Levine proposed a hotel apartment tower of some height.

Photos today.  Look at the views of uptown and tall enough would look over high power lines.  My exclusive photos of recent survey stakes.  Perhaps some the local biz media can investigate.

Glad to see it moving, hopefully they go as tall as possible. Would be tremendous for sleek condos.

JP Morgan bought the land since they own the commercial part of Metropolitan. They were marketing the entire thing for sale, so the stakes are likely related to survey work rather than an actual project moving forward, although I'm sure the buyer does have plans to develop the land at some point as part of their overall business plan.

Charlotte, and other “newer” cities like Nashville, remind me more of cities in Asia, than many places here in the U.S. It probably had to do with the fact that many of our buildings are newer and the more prominent usage of LED lighting. Charlotte gets panned for its lack of legacy architecture, but I like the fact that Charlotte and it’s peer cities look more unique in certain ways than some of the cities that you find in the Northeast and Midwest.

I agree that lightning sets Charlotte apart and our buildings are so much newer than most cities including some of our peers.  and remember we are Char-LIT
