Looks good when closed, looks like crap when opened.

it will be closed 90% of the time I think, with rain storms every day and about 90 degree heat on day games it will hardly be open.

Then why go to the expense to build a moveable roof?

I think they plan on keeping it open whenever possible. It will be open every night game unless it's raining. I could see it being closed during afternoon games in mid summer just because of the heat.

How long does it take to close when unexpected storms pop up?

If it's anything like the Rodgers Center in Toronto, about 20 minutes. Which, considering S. Florida rainstorms last only about 20 minutes, means you better have a REALLY good Doppler.

Ballpark Digest has posted some new renderings of the Marlins new digs: New Marlins Stadium. While it's obviously a tremendous upgrade from their current home, it doesn't have the wow factor that some of the recent ballparks have. It's simple and sleek.
