Even though we are all meh on the residents portion, the density it brings to that corner is amazing just at this point. It's going to look pretty massive when completed.

That is going to be nice. It's always been sort of no mans land with the surface lot, parking ramp and and Arena set far back off the street on the south side of Fulton. I think this will help the north and south side of Fulton feel more integrated.

Next up, I'd love to see the triangular lot at Fulton, Ionia and Lyon get built on

It was a parking garage, the whole thing. Not sure if that is why it was torn down.

It was built in 1912 as a shoe factory for Rhinge, Kalmbach, Logie** & Co.  It started as six stories, later built up into eleven.  It was sold to Morton House to use as their parking garage, and then later as public parking.  It was abandoned by the 1970s.

What a great building for such a small lot - I've never seen a photo this close up of it before.  If it was taken in '78 it was probably abandoned by then.

**Yes, related to Mayor Logie.

Wow, just looked out at this site a few minutes ago from the Campau Ramp and the Venue (monroe-side) portion is now almost completely enclosed with the walls. Big change in just 3 days.  I will try and get a picture up myself soon.  Fun to see the progress every day.
