spiker3 0 Report post Posted March 12, 2009 So i met a guy planning on running for City Council in Ward 3 against Anthony Burfoot the other night...he's running on a platform of ending ALL developer incentives, converting the existing incentives to loans to be paid back with a maximum cap on the amount of the loan... I have never in my life struggled to keep a straight face in discussing the matter with him. Any thoughts?

lil-bear 54 Report post Posted March 13, 2009 He lives in Chesapeake? I often thought he looked too fancy to live off of Sewells Point Rd.
spiker3 0 Report post Posted March 13, 2009 Do you think this is a good idea? I have misgivings personally. In a perfect world we wouldn't have to offer them money to begin with, but it is clear that a lot of the projects under construction now would not have been built without city assistance. A loan sounds nice, but it still eats into the developers bottom line in the end, which is all they really care about.
