Grand Rapids unemployment rate for May jumped to 11.7%.

State unemployment rate is 14.1% which differs from the article.

It's sad to know that over 1 in 10 people are unemployed. It's looming over everyone's heads.

Not to mention that the real unemployment is even higher than that. I'm not in that 11% because my last job was technically self-employment. I think I remember from Economics class that there are some other factors that make the official unemployment rate smaller than it really is, as well.

I just cracked up laughing. But the interesting thing is it is a good way of look at things. Now we all would like to be at 95% employment but we cant always what we want.

Not to be Debbie Downer here, but if you included part time/temp labor in that number, we would be closer to 22% in Michigan.
