A restaurant named Fidelli has signs in the office building retail slot closest to Prices (1618 Camden). Website says "Fast Fresh Italian" and they have a bizarre geographic footprint "Charlotte, Ottawa, Dublin". Looks kinda interesting and kinda old-school Italian -- I didn't see a link to a menu. http://fidellikitchen.com/  (slightly concerned that they put an incorrect url on their sign)

They finally started construction on this place today.

They are looking at West Tremont Ave. Not the Foundry, though.

I've been seeing work going on there, and got excited remembering they were interested in a space on Tremont. Do you know what is actually happening there?

If not the Foundry, it would have to be one of these buildings, right? I can kind of picture it at either.

The property they are looking at is on the other side of the street.

Also that much dreamed about ABC store in south end is no more (for now) :(

The Agenda says today that a new ABC store will be opening up in the old SilveryFly location across from Amos'. There are signs in the window apparently...I will check out on my way home from the office to see if they are still there.

That sign picture was old, this was news a while ago. The Agenda just got it confirmed from ABC

So clutch for the hood. Charlotte needs more liquor stores, the ABC structure is so lame. No reason the state needs to be involved with it. In fact, I'd argue it is rather Unrepublican/free market to have the state involved, yet not a peep from Pat and the rest of his fellow republicans.

Love to have been a fly on the wall when this site selection occurred.... I can imagine the conversation was something of this order.. " Hey, let's send a message to those stores two miles down the road from us, with pricing 20% below our state regulated pricing, that we're here to compete!!! https://www.google.com/maps/place/Mecklenburg+County+ABC+Store+%2321/@35.030799,-80.8528319,17z/data=!4m5!3m4!1s0x0:0xc78303a737d26d78!8m2!3d35.0309968!4d-80.8518997

I knew Don Podrebac who owned (owns?) the Southern Spirits store. It took years for everything to come together for that store. Liquor stores are never easy to site. He knew it would be a winner. The difference in price for commodity spirits is not significant between NC and SC but the higher end liquors and wine, sold at the same store, certainly make the drive worthwhile. Especially since the gas is 24¢ per gallon less just two miles away. I buy most of my gas and ALL of my liquor at Carowinds exit. If one really wants to save on better spirits then the internet is your friend. NC allows it since no business owner is affected.

I love Southern Spirits.  Their Whisky collection is untouchable.
