The Guide Stones

The Guide Stones. See this Wired Article about the history of the place. It's fascinating. I have never heard of this place until today despite having camped only 35 or so miles from there. This is a Stonehenge type structure that was built close to 30 years ago by unknown people in an obscure part of Georgia. There is also a Wikipedia page about them. It's supposed to be instructions for rebuilding civilization once it has been destroyed by something.

My question, has anyone been there? If so, what did you think? Seems like this is an easy day trip from Charlotte.

Me too... There's a lot of mystery that lurks out in rural Georgia actually, take for instance the Nuwabians (scary) of Putnam County who had built these pyramids that have since been demolished http://www.roadsideamerica.com/tip/325
