Anyone know why M-Dot (or whoever else) pounded those huge sets of holes in the left lane? They are 6 rectangular holes arranged in rows, and spread up and down this stretch about every 10-20 feet. They are violent to drive over, which is why I see motorists moving over to the right lane. I don't get it, it's been like this for a year and the icy winter has made them even bigger. They are clearly mechanically driven. I thought the purpose right after this was done was to come back over and break up the concrete, but they continue to let motorists drive on these several miles of pavement.

The top layer of asphalt is also ripping up on US-23 in both directions, leaving massive open holes. It appears they did not groove and tar the most recent layer of asphalt down.
