A $500 Million Dollar Golf residential community project in Dubai Sports City.

Victory Heights will be developed on 25 million sq ft of land within the Dubai Sports City project in Dubailand, the Middle East's first dedicated recreational and commercial sporting city.

Developed around an 18-hole championship golf course to be designed by top ranked golfer, Ernie Els, in association with Nicklaus Design, Victory Heights will complement Dubai Sports City's wide array of stadiums, training academies and other sporting facilities, a report said.

Ever-increasing demand for lifestyle-oriented communities, coupled with the strong performance of Dubai's real estate market, makes this a compelling transaction, he said.

Victory Heights seeks to offer a comprehensive gated neighbourhood environment with high quality residential units catering to local and expatriate families.

The community will be differentiated by its specialised recreational focus encompassing the broadest range of sporting and leisure amenities such as a country club with branded health and fitness centres, world-class swimming facilities, tennis complexes operated by the renowned David Lloyd and a branded Butch Harmon golf academy.

Victory Heights' potential residents will also have access to Dubai Sports City's other international sporting academies such as the Manchester United Soccer School and the International Cricket Academy.

The community will be developed by East West Partners, a leading developer of award-winning themed residential communities in the US, who have completed over 30 similar projects.

I believe the Emirates Airlines also is the sponsor to some big soccer teams in Europe or at least in England. They currently sponsor Chelsea and will soon by the sponsor of Arsenal and they also paid a lot of money to have their name on the new Arsenal stadium being built at Ashburton Grove.

Now that would be an interesting idea. What's the closest they've gone near the Middle East?

The Asian Olympics are going to be held in Doha.

I know it's not the world olympics, but it is still interesting.

I would like to see them hold the olympics in Dubai.

Dubai sounds like a great place to have them. The only problem I'd see is if enough people would be willing to go. I could see some tourists hesistant to go to such a big event in the Middle East fearing terrorism unfortunately. I could see that perhaps holding back Dubai.

Dubai is very safe.

But most people aren't aware of it's excellent security.

Also, some people said that the olympics would never come to Greece because of terrorism, but it turned out real positive.

Sorry if I gave the wrong impression. I wasn't trying to imply Dubai wasn't safe. But I'm afraid that many of the average tourist will not view it as a safe place to go because of where it lies in the world. It's a shame but I wonder if something like that would keep the Olympic Committee from giving a games to Dubai.

No, I get what your saying.

When most people think of the middle east, they think about insecurity, terrorism, things like that. But, parts of the middle east are beginning to open up more to tourism and development.

To me, the Champions Tower looks like it's a little more of a sports friendly tower. It looks like it would fit in well next to a sports development. I'm glad the developers of Dubailand have chosen to design buildings that fit in with the theme of the area.

^Yea I like that aspect of the tower and the plan very much.

It simply looks and feels better to have buildings fit the surrounding area.

Incredible... absolutely incredible. You'll probably see me saying that quite a bit on this forum.

"Dubai is fast gaining its name as international venue for sporting activities. Recently ICC choose Dubai as its new Headquarters leaving Lords which hosted ICC for 95 years."
