WTF!! lol How was that thing constructed? The structure of the upper floors seems amazing since it all stayed together, but the foundation was apparently an epic fail.

I'm wondering if the ground got too muddy and the building just sank in on one side until it fell over? It seems to have been constructed rather rigidly if it's still mostly in one piece.

The caisons on that should be 3 times as thick and I can barely see any rebar in them. It's like they used wire instead of rebar. Even if the ground doesn't get that muddy and saturated the caisons should still be way thicker. Quite sad really. I'm not an engineer, but it's pretty clear there the stuctural support of this building was weak (no pun intended).

Speaking of buildings tumbling over:

Here's the video of a building in Turkey performing a somersault after a demolition goes awry. No one was hurt and there was no major damage to anything else, thank God.

It looks like a child's construction set!!!! It is not for people! Awfull thing!

Look at the crumbling concrete too - no rebar in sight. And, judging from the poor portland mix chinese schools were built with, I would venture the failure was related to structural collapse. Especially for those tall buildings, you can't just build something on MUD and expect it to stand for long!!!
