Windsor loses 500 jobs to lower tax state

American Airlines is moving 500 call center jobs to North Carolina. The jobs went from Hartford to Windsor in 2002.

yeah, that totally sucks.

Sadly I feel like this area needs more call center type jobs than anything because we have a crap load of "low skill" workers not working.

I guess it goes back to the casinos. if they had been put in Hartford, there would be low skill jobs in Hartford for 20,000 people.

actually I believe this is a closing of the reservations center as a result of downsizing more than it is moving 500 jobs. Some will have the option to move, but all 500. I believe the artical references that the Raleigh reservations center was larger, which is why that one remained.
