Stamford train station proposals

So it seems that the Stamford train station is now getting multiple proposals for development.

this is kind of as part of the Harbor point development, but as of right now it seems the city has 3 proposals for the train station lot.

Obviously Stamfords station is a key critical location, so it is going to do well no matter the econemy. The most recent proposal includes a 500,000 SF Office and 1000 parking spaces.

At least two other developers have submitted proposals to the DOT. Among them is W&M Properties, which offered to develop 200 to 300 parking spaces next to the existing garage as part of an already approved office and residential project known as Metro Green. The remaining spaces would be provided by another developer.

Wouldn't a multi-use facility be better? Think of a nice building with offices, retail, hotel, residential....
