First one is the old Grands Rapids Chair, was Baker Furniture before it closed

Second is the old Water Treatment Plant from when the city drew it's supply from the Grand River, used as a summer peaking plant until it closed for good. Now offices and apartments.

Hey thanks, I seem to recall the second one having a new name now. Recall what it is?

Good stuff all. Slightly off topic but in looking at past posts some of these redevelopments were subject to "lunch & learn" get togethers. Does this still happen?

GR Grid Girl was the lunch & learn goddess. She now has other priorities, and it would seem that no one's particularly interested in these events (otherwise there'd be clamor for them, yes?).

Only if people new the event existed in the first place.

Rachel was great at doing them because she'd put them together basically free of charge (food would be donated), and she knew a lot of the people in the development community. If anyone's interested in starting them up again, that would be great!

I spoke with Rachel yesterday and she's interested in hosting some more lunch-n-learns. Anyone want to see anything in particular? 101 S. Division maybe?

Possibly combine 101 with a few others nearby ... new bike shop, even Mixtape would be kinda interesting.
