anyone bike to work?

anyone bike to work either to downtown or from downtown?

i'd be interested in biking to work from downtown to wh and would like to know what's involved: what are the best streets to take, best time to ride, etc.? perhaps even find a biking buddy. does anyone know if any such information exists somewhere?

Here are a couple of links you may find useful:

Centeral CT Bicycle Alliance: http://www.wecyclect.org/

CRCOG: http://www.crcog.org/transportation/bicycle/bp_index.html

Statewide bike plan: http://www.ctbikepedplan.org/

Lots of people commute on bikes from WH to Hartford.

Have you asked around your workplace?

I'd say the best route is to go up Asylum til you get by UConn Law School/CT Historical society and then cut over to fern and take that into WeHa. Probably the least traffic there.

my goal is to stay away from asylum, i live off it now and it sucks for traffic, i wouldn't want to be on it for 2 ft.

i found a route that's bicycle friendly, parts of capitol and boulevard(all of it) have a bike lane.
