Hey, cats and kitties, Saturday, June 9 is the 4th annual Local First Street Party, held outside Bistro Bella Vita, and running from 3pm to midnight. Come look over the vendors; each and every one of them can provide a "shop outside the box" experience and help you keep your hard-earned cash in West Michigan. One of them will be skulking around, cute dog in tow, and foisting her brochures onto hapless passersby. Come join the fun!

Busy weekend downtown. Check celebrationonthegrand.org for details. I forgot about the Priority Health Cycling Classic on Saturday and there also is a Discover Grand Rapids Walking Tour complete with podcast.

Walking tour: starts at the Y on Saturday. Free.

Bike race: laps VAA starting at noon Saturday. If you like thrills, watch the Cat 5, 4 or 3 racers. The Mens 1 & 2 go r-e-a-l-l-y fast.

Taste of GR is at RPC every evening. Food booths, nice live music, and beer. Sorta like BOTM only better.

New Orleans-style "second line" procession in honor of Shakey Jake Woods (the most popular person in Ann Arbor).

Meet at Muehlig's Funeral Chapel (in Ann Arbor) after 1 pm Sunday (where the indoor memorial service is held). Bring your instrument (anything). Guitars welcome, strings and tuning optional. Wear your finest Jake tribute ensemble.

Route, destination, and step-off time all TBD. Repertoire to include "When the Saints Go Marching In" (in G) and "Just a Closer Walk with Thee" (key TBD).

Like the Critical Mass bicycle events, this is a "disorganized coincidence." Just show up!

On the MOVE!
