Benton County

I read a recent article on MSNBC that made me wonder a bit. Apparently Lubbock County, Texas just recently went wet. It apparently had the distinction of the biggest dry county in the country. It's population is around 264,000. I've seen some estimates of Benton County being around 210,000. But I'm not sure how old those numbers are and I imagine the 2010 census will show Benton County larger than that. I imagine there's other counties a bit larger than Benton County that are possibly dry. But still a bit interesting to think that Benton County could be one of the biggest dry counties in the country. Unfortunately I haven't been able to find any type of listing to show some of the biggest dry counties. I do find it interesting also that it seems after a country gets to a certain population it tends to go wet. I wonder if Benton County will get up to or over 250,000 before it eventually goes wet.
