Ada Bike Shop - Fulton

5 posts in this topic

Ada Bike Shop has purchased Fulton Heights Mower and Bike Repair next to the Schnitz Deli and Common Ground Coffee Shop. I've been by a couple of times to check out the progress. As the sign indicates, they are planning to keep the mower/snowblower service dept.

Below are photos from 12/2. The pegboard in the 2nd photo was already down when I was back on Tuesday and they were supposed to be painting this week and the shop was chock full of snowblowers in for repair/tune-up. There was also a very nice window display with some youth bicycles for sale.

You can read more info about this and how it, along with Commute Bicycle Shop in Heartside, is filling in one of the "bike shop deserts" in Grand Rapids on PedalGR: http://www.pedalgr.c...p-desert-in-gr/

I took a photo of their neighbor, GR Opera. I'll post that in the other thread.

First time visitor? That pegboard, with the merch it holds, has been there several years. The components are from the lower end of bike warehouse vendors; stamped steel spoke wrenches, that sort of thing. Nothing with a T or a C or an S on it.

This post is not intended to dissuade discussion on UP. No offense is intended nor implied towards anyone reading or commenting on this board, nor to any customer of any Ada bike shop location nor any other bicycle-related establishment anywhere in GR. Or anywhere else.

That's a cool little space, thanks for sharing. Will be interesting to see how the mower/blower business compliments the bike biz.

That shop has done bike service and used bike sales for years. I've purchased some tubes and tires there in the past. Good to see the business expanding. Too bad they couldn't make the Eastown site work.
