Park Road / Woodlawn / Montford Area Retail

J. Crew seems to be opening a Mercantile store in the shopping center here. Very interesting, and awesome. A building permit for this was issued Friday "J. Crew Mercantile / Park Road Shopping Center"

Very neat ! Stores look surprisingly similar to any full-price layout. I think this store will kill it in this location, and glad to see retail big names moving away from SouthPark. Interesting indeed.

Viva Chicken is building a new location at Park & Montford.  Not that the Elizabeth location was terribly far but I'm pretty excited about this news.

The Park Road shopping center area is getting pretty awesome.  I'm glad I live within walking/riding distance.  I'm even more pumped about being able to hop in the greenway in the near future and not have to ride down Park Rd and risk my life to get to Montford.

Agree with you there.  I bought a house off Scaleybark earlier this year and feel like I'm reaping all the benefits of this area and future development moving down towards us on South.

Between Viva Chicken and Chopt I like these new dining options.  I felt like I was cheating on Crisp this weekend when I went to Chopt but man was it good.  Expensive but really really good.

I don't know if its Still great, but Moosehead used to be my favorite restaurant, despite the amount of times I saw Roaches in the place.

Residents want to give the neighborhood around the Park Rd shopping center a name.  They have the list narrowed down to three, but it seems like there is little interest in those names. Now is the chance to get Queen's Park into the mix.

Those names are horrid, mad park especially. Queen's Park I could get behind....... I enjoy living in Madison park. Definitely a big change from living in south end, but I enjoy it.

Park Terrace Towns. 16 condos at corner of Reece and Arbor Way. Across the street from The Kimmerlee for those who know the location.

16 condos. No price announced that I can find. Many thousands for sure. This was at 6:15 p. m. Earlier in the day there was significant work with men onsite and active.

This sign sits at the lowest end of the property and adjoins the Meck County Greenway property. The greenway walking path is on the other side of Little Sugar Creek so there is the least truth to the statement of "On the greenway". There were four small aged brick and frame one story homes here and were recently purchased for about 1.9 million dollars total by the developer, per Polaris. The home at the lowest elevation was in flood zone, the others not.

No posts in this thread in nearly four years.

The former Korean Cleaners on Park Road adjacent to Park Road Center may soon be a wine and chocolate shop. I wondered what was the delay in this since the cleaner has been closed since last year.

Here's the CLT O story from a few days ago that was probably the source of that other site:
