"Flavio Buys Church, Names 7-11 Corporate Sponsor!"  Owner tells media, that concessionaire will be replaced by 7-11 accompaniments and The Slurpee Section will feature free unlimited frosty beverages. As many as 4 full stores will replace current concourse amenities with the likes of full beverage glass front cases and snack aisles, as well as big bites and taquitos. Owner also says, if the Lions win any game from here on out, he will buy all attendees at that game a Slurpee, $5 of Lotto quick picks, a pack of Parliaments, and an iPhone 4s adapter without cord. One lucky person will get a $500 shopping spree to use exclusively at Thornton Park 7-11 at 2am on Sat nights.

Oh, the lengths to which we here at UP-Orlando will go to make a 7 Eleven joke!!!

Makes me kinda proud....

The tide is turning on this team, though.  I have heard a handful of people refer to them as Orlando Sucky in recent weeks.  The doll of the ball can't win a game to save their lives and the bandwagon fans are falling off.

Big fish, little pond.

That's sports in most cities. New England may be the one exception to that. If your team sucks for a few years, people will stop going. It's too expensive and there are too many entertainment options everywhere.

All it will take is winning and everyone will come hurrying back. It's the name of the game.

No, but it does roll off the tongue as City and Sucky are close enough.

Just for the record, I have no interest in soccer and I've just overheard it both at work and at a sports bar.

Oh, come on. There's a way more obvious name than Sucky. Orlando Sh....y.

Orlando City announce training complex at Osceola Heritage Park. This is a change from the facility that was to go in Lake Nona as a brand new build, but it is a good thing for both Osceola County and the soccer teams that will finally have a dedicated facility to train at. It will be a renovation of the former Houston Astros spring training complex.  Of course, the Lake Nona pipe dream one was a lot fancier, but this works well for all the parties. The team can afford to spend more on fixing the players and building an academy, and Osceola County gets obvious benefits, plus there might be a little more cross benefit of more fans from Osceola county going to games.  This will fill a vacancy in the park and will be able to open by next pre-season, whereas a new build would have taken at least a year.
