This church was founded by freed slaves and this building is from 1896.   Today a beautiful church uptown.  Corner of 7th and N College.

Thanks for all these pictures... It's great (and depressing at the sametime) to see so much of what Charlotte had years ago. I spend a lot of time in the Back Bay area of Boston for work and wish how Charlotte only had a few blocks of that. So much history and love the feel of that area. Probably my favorite stretch of blocks in the country. A few of these old pics remind me of that.
