Awsome photos, Randy! Those are some awsome skyline shots of Birmingham!

Way to turn off all electrical devices before landing! :P Or, do you have to? I do not fly out of Charlotte that much. Too darn expenisve for me!

Thanks, Kyle! You're asked to turn off electronic devices, but I don't think a digital camera is any threat to aircraft safety, but cell phones (and possibly other devices) could interfere with electronic equipment in the cockpit. Anyway, it's a lot easier shooting photos with a small, digital camera while landing than it is with a larger camcorder (which I've done in the past). Just remember to wait until the flight attendants have taken their seats so they won't see your camera and ask you to put it away during landing. ;)

The control tower for Birmingham's airport looks just like Charlotte's...

That's because the FAA uses the same designs for it's control towers at different airports. That particular design (or a very similar design) was first used at DFW in 1974. Miami is one of the first to see the FAA's newest design installed at its airport (seen here beside the old tower which is the same design as Charlotte, Birmingham, and other airports around the nation).
