Looks like Sen. Kevin Rader is proposing that the states capital is moved from Tallahassee to Orlando.

how do you guys feel about this? And what impact would this have on Orlando?

I think it would be cool, but what’s the incentive for Tally to let it go ?

It almost happened when Claude Kirk was governor. There is a plaque in the new Capitol thanking the senator who sponsored the effort for his efforts leading to the construction of the new building.

At the time, old-line Panhandle Democrats (the remnants of the infamous Pork Chop Gang, although St. Reuben “The Good” Askew went along since he was, after all, from Pensacola) fought successfully to keep the capital out of Uber-Republican Orange County.

Today, Republicans would fight tooth and nail to keep the capital out of Uber-Democratic Orange County.

Legislators mostly like state capitals being in small towns far away from the prying eyes of big city folk (what happens in Tally, stays in Tally), so there’s not a lot of incentive there.

Most other metros also have no reason to anoint a rival city to benefit from such a move.

Bottom line: it’s a great idea that ain’t going to happen.

Somehow I just don't think the BOA logo will "fit" the top of that building as well as the SunTrust logo does.

Wait is the BOA logo going on the old Suntrust building?  I thought it was moving just south of it to 300 S. Orange which is this

So who's moving into old Suntrust?

Per OBJ, the empty lot at 110 W Jefferson is coming up for sale.   This has been rumored to be the site for projects including Orlando Central Tower and Vertical Medical City for a minute

For sale from whom? I thought Orlando Central Tower people already owned it? The guy from Miami

Not sure what thread to put this in.   Noticed today that the block at NE corner of  Princeton and Orange is fenced off and demolition has begun.  This includes the Orlando Ballet space, even thought their new facility on Lake Formosa is in early phase of construction.  I'm pretty sure the block is owned by Advent Health but not sure what is going up there.

I saw that too.  Somewhere on here there was mention of Advent's plans for the property...

In other news WeWork is indeed looking for 70,000 sq ft in now named soon to be renamed Sun Trust tower.  From the O Business Journal today.

""Meanwhile, Atlanta-based Piedmont Office Realty Trust Inc. (NYSE: PDM), owner of the SunTrust Center, plans to spend more than $10 million to renovate the tower. The renovations are expected to start this summer and wrap up in early 2020.  The renovation plans come after Atlanta-based SunTrust Banks Inc. (NYSE: STI) announced in June 2018 that it will move its Orlando headquarters in August into the $125 million, 28-story, mixed-use SunTrust Plaza at Church Street Station now under construction.   No leases have been signed to backfill the 125,000 square feet of space SunTrust is leaving in its wake. But New York-based co-working giant WeWork reportedly is in talks to lease 70,000 square feet of space in the SunTrust Center, which would be WeWork's first Central Florida operation. Currently, the nearly three-decades-old high-rise houses a mix of tenants ranging from law and accounting firms to real estate companies.""
