Downtown Orlando Project Discussion

based on the OBJ's history and that author of the OBJ article, I personally believe the sentinel article.

that is: one new building, that is taller than Artisan 420

i hope the developer continues the artisan theme with gallery space as they will create an arts district that didn't exist just a few years prior.

I was thinking the same about the art gallery. That would really bridge the gap between Thornton Park and Downtown for the 3rd Thursday art walk.

Glad to hear the developer wants to make this a vibrant retail destination either way!

Alex, I think the wrap around building in on property across the stree, see attached.

That's it.

I also heard some rumors about presidential towers coming back. So I looked on the City's permit page and saw a mpb submittal last month. Any of you guys that know how to snoop or have contacts with the City, please share.

Jack - I feel like you're one of the better connected people on here!

Anyway - great find!  I wasn't familiar with Presidential Towers and there was surprisingly little available in the history of this board or even on google (at least by name).  Finally figured out the lot, then the address through the OCPA and here we are:

Case Number: MPL2015-00005 Primary Address: 110 WEST JEFFERSON ST Project Name: ORLANDO CENTRAL Master Number: MPL2015-00005 Case Description: Master Plan application for a 450-unit (multi-family) with 17,037 sq. ft. of commercial/retail use. Status: REV Application Date: 2/24/2015

I don't remember a "Presidential Towers", but I do remember "Presidential Tower". This was back in like 2006 or 2007?

But it was a legitimate high-rise. 41 stories with 460 units. ... Nearly the same address, as well. Maybe we'll see it come back as multiple mid-rises or something? That tends to be the trend.

Some remnants I was able to dig up:

Completely different by now I'm sure. Whatever it is, it will have great visibility from I-4.

Castor - i posted the details of the MPL submission above for the Pres Towers site - still 450 units

Jernigan - Assuming the 350 Pine development is 328 units, it looks like at most it gets 1/2 block.  So, if the 520 Church project with a full block at 12 stories is 310 units, then this 350 Pine project with 1/2 the footprint would have to be in excess of 20 stories, rivaling City Tower across the street.
