PROPOSED: DC-NYC-HART-BOS High Speed Rail

The "Vermonter" is currently seeing some serious upgrades in Vermont and Massachusetts (shortened & straightened, laying new track) as part of the larger plan to upgrade service along the St. Albans -- New Haven route. The route was the former "Montrealer," so I'd imagine the most likely candidate for eventual service to Montreal.

Thats not AMTRACKs plan thats some guys dream map I think because it credits a website or someting

I actually like the AMTRAK one better because it specifically mentions Hartford and its role in the rail network including the commuter rail and high speed rail from New Haven to Montreal therefore making Hartford a fairly major stop.  and transfer due to the airport being connected as well.

but It is good to see Hartford on the map :)

This map was put together by California Rail Map, led by Alfred Twu, which combined existing proposals from high speed rail advocacy groups around the US. The US High Speed Rail Association, a nonprofit trade association, predicts a network similar to this one could be in place by 2030. http://www.californiarailmap.com/

Massachusetts talking about improvements on the springfield - Boston Line.

In a perfect world if everything came together one day we could see travel from NYC -New Haven-  Hartford - Springfield - Boston - The Berkshires all be connected with frquent updated, modern rail service.... Maybe they can lay tracks over that bus line too :shades: ?

We can only hope that one day that will be the rail infrastructure that we have.
