Aerosoles is closing at SouthPark Mall, adjacent to Belk and across from Gap. The company declared bankruptcy protection last month, is closing 74 stores, and downsizing to just 4 stores in New York and New Jersey.  The retail bloodbath continues.

Keep an eye on the Gap and Banana Republic at SouthPark. Gap Group plans to close 200 Gap and Banana Republic stores nationwide as they focus growth on Old Navy and Athleta (both of which SouthPark has).

Over the next three years, the company expects to add about 70 net new stores, with the addition of about 270 Old Navy, Athleta and value expressions across the portfolio, and the closure of about 200 underperforming Gap and Banana Republic specialty locations.

BR would be a great space for Zara.

Brookstone is closing

http://www.charlotteobserver.com/news/business/biz-columns-blogs/whats-in-store/article193718809.html

Brookstone, a specialty retailer that’s known for gadgets such as massage chairs and personal drones, filed for bankruptcy protection in April 2014 as pressure mounted from e-commerce and as customers began spending less on non-essential items. The company was purchased by a Chinese investment firm that summer.

What stores are you hoping will open shop at SouthPark at some point? I'm so over crap like "Palmetto Moon" taking up valuable space.

Bloomingdale's

Gucci

Kiehl's

OMEGA

Salvatore Ferragamo

I'm thinking that these are all viable options... How about you?
