i had Morton's Saturday Night! It was very elite! The waiter evens scraped the crumbs off the table! haha......so that means I've basically tried every restaurant at SP....including the food court restaurants. I still think they should put a Rainforest Cafe in there somewhere!

every mall has the odd stores. southpark is far from as luxurious as many "luxury shopping centers" in the country, and even those with myriad of luxury stores like SCP still have their unique quirky stores. you can't really expect SP to suddenly have exclusively luxury stores. the influx of new luxury will slow down from here if not stop for a few years.

SouthPark updated their website again with some new stores/restaurants. A store called Illuminations is taking over the Picture People spot near the food court (no McDonalds). SOMA by Chico's is also coming, Jon Ric International Salon, Emerson Joseph is opening a second location at The Village, a couple of restaurants (Marble Slab, The Counter - very modern looking, build your own burger place, The Grape), and some service oriented stuff like a cleaners and a gift wrap place called Origami Ink. Most of these places are coming to The Village.

Illuminations is only in a very select few cities. I am on their e-mail list and I would consider it a great coup for SP.

Finally, something I can afford there!!! :thumbsup:

BTW - It is a candle store. A much better version of White Barn Candle Company. And better than Yankee too!

Design Within Reach is now listed as "Now Open" on the SP website, but when you click on the link, it mentions somthing about Florida. Is this a mistake or is a DWR coming to SouthPark? It certainly can't be "now open" since I have never heard mention of it before and frequent the mall regularly.

Also, I noticed M5, which I couldn't find mentioned before...another Harper's restaurant.

Illuminations can be labeled as just a candle store but it is WAY more upscale than Yankee Candle and other competitors. To me this is about as upscale as a "candle" store can possibly be. I have been waiting for one of these to arrive in Charlotte for some time now as well.

SOMA by Chico's is one of the hottest retailers in the industry right now. Chico's as a whole consistently posts some of the best numbers in the industry also.

DWR is coming to The Village. The description seems like a mistake - there was a different one awhile back with a "Coming in May to The Village" on the bottom. Check in there next time and see if it is open. Sometimes the mall wesbite is wrong, and posts "Now Open" even thought it isn't, and then they change it back to "Coming Soon", and then "Now Open". Basically the website isn't very reliable when it comes to things like that.

what exactly are you expecting? there aren't that many more "elite" stores that would readily open at SouthPark. I can maybe see a couple more opening. Otherwise, more mid-market stores will probably fill in the space. Illuminations is actually a very nice store. Its atmosphere and their products are much nicer than both Yankee Candle and White Barn.

Sony Style needs to come to the Village....as well as Gucci, A/X (is way past due for a charlotte debut), French Connection, Diesel, Club Monaco, Sisley, all of which arent too expensive and very likely to open here.....

Well, if it's physical proof you want, there's now a red DWR sign outside The Village on the Sharon Rd side... next to Paul Simon.

Can someone please explain to me why there is a Starbucks coming soon at the Village at SP?? I'm starting to dislike that company! They oversaturate way too much

LOL - so Southpark will have 3 Starbucks?! I'm guessing they closed one of them and moved it to the Village.
