Great article on the challenges of planning

With all that is going on in Nashville, we need to reflect on how we do our planning. For years we simply had a random and simplified approach. If you owned land, you built what you wanted in the suburbs, and if you owned land in the CBD you could either build an office building or a hotel. Only recently has one been able to develop residential. The rest of the city was on their own with councilmen making a lot of decisions. Here is the article.
