Largest Convention Centers

The Farm Show Complex in Harrisburg has "over 1 million square feet" according to its website, but it doesn't give an exact figure. That's pretty impressive for a medium size metro area. It's in an industrial section of the city, without really anything around it. They are planning to build an upscape hotel in one of the parking lots (there are several lol).

Did you know that it's the seventh largest hotel in the country, the largest without a casino, and has one of the largest hotel rooms in the country?

Las Vegas' Convention Center is huge, by far the largest I've seen. And, it is only one of three huge convention centers in the city. The others are privately-owned, one's at Mandalay Bay and the other is the Sands Convention Center at the Venetian.

The Qwest Center in Omaha is a decent size - beautiful facility though

Although the Pittsburgh convention center is only 330,000 square feet, it is the first green convention center and the worlds largest green building.

The Baltimore Convention Center has 1,650,000 Square Feet

Overall Metro convention space would put Orlando and Vegas together. In addition to the large convention center, Orlando has the Gaylord Palms Hotel and Convention Center (same as the Gaylord Hotel in Nashville). That adds almost 500,000 sq. feet of convention space. Then Disney and Universal each have a few convention areas and countless other hotels.

The Showplace Convention Center in High Point, NC (part of the Triad-- Greensboto,Winston-Salem,High Point) has half a million square feet

Hi folks,

The Las Vegas Convention center has 2.2 million sq.ft. of meeting and convention space and is planning another expansion. The expansion will add 245,000 sq. ft. of dedicated meeting and ballroom space as well as a new spiffy facade for the whole place. (the 3.0m figure includes lobbys and outdoor areas)

The Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Vegas has 1.4 million total sq. ft.

The Sands Convention Center at the Venetian in Vegas has 1.9 million total sq. ft. and is undergoing an expansion of 385,000 sq. ft.

So when all is complete:

LVCS 2.445 m

Sands 2.285 m

Mandalay 1.400 m

Not bad for one town...eeh

BTW the total convention and meeting space for all of Las Vegas is over 9.0 Million sq. ft. which even beats NYNY
