Lee Harvey Oswald's original coffin goes up for auction!

Wonders never cease, and this one is up there.

Lee Harvey Oswald (supposedly the assassin of JFK) was buried in a pine coffin in 1963, after he was assassinated by Jack Ruby several days after JFK's death.

By 1980, Oswald's wife Marina, began to doubt her husband was actually buried in the plot. After a court battle, Marina won the right to exhume Lee's body. Medical examiners determined it was indeed Lee's body.

So Lee's body was reburied in a new plot, in a new coffin. For some reason the original casket was saved over the years, and now it's up for auction. So far the price is up to $4000.

an aside: this past summer the hat that Jack Ruby wore when he shot Lee Harvey Oswald went up for auction. It fetched $53,000.
