According to 'Julie' the robotic Amtrak voice at 800/USA RAIL (800/872-7245) train #174 out of Norfolk is running on time and will arrive Boston's South Station on schedule at 6:34PM tonight.

The inaugural train carries 4 extra  cars to handle the crowds.  Regular service is 6 cars plus a cafe car and a business class car.

Between Harbor Park and DC, it stops in Petersburg; Richmond Staples Mill (not Main Street); Ashland; Fredericksburg; Quantico; Woodbridge and Alexandria.

The station looks good.  I can't tell from the pics, and haven't read anywhere, but is this a high platform or low platform station.  Meaning, do you walk out of the train onto a platform that's at the same level of the corridor of the train (mind the gap), or do you have to walk down steps from the train to the platform?
