Makes me feel like buying a Chrysler:

I thought this ad reminded me of something. Different town, same mood, grit, and close to the same narrative voice:

algrens last night

Even though he's talking about Chicago, the opening line about the Packard plant is the now abandoned Packard plant in Detroit where Algren's father had worked. At over five minutes this would have cost a fortune as a superbowl ad and it isn't selling any cars at the end.

EDIT: I might add, the same Packard plant where my grandfather worked.
