High Point Developments

an amphitheatre is being proposed In Uptowne High Point. It would be nothing like the size of the one currently being built in Greensboro but it would be the first real investment in the downtown area of High Point in a long time not related to the furniture industry. The Amhitheatre would be 8000 to 1,000 seat. Some city leaders are skeptical about the project saying there may not be the demand for it because other venues across the city are under utilized. Proponents argue that the amphiteatre would be near restaurants and retail and would be good for the downtown area. I certainly think its a good idea. High Point needs something to help jump start its core again it would be great to have live music down there. That would be a plus during the furniture market as well. The amphitheatre would be located next to the Bentley car dealership.

That definitely is good news for the city, an outdoor events venue like an amphitheater seems to be something else that the city could offer that is not available in either Greensboro or Winston-Salem. Also I though I might add that High Point's Uptowne is also being looked at as the possible location for a new Fresh Market.
