I'm so glad this is being built. I was worried the future casino was going to ghetto up this part of town.

Drove by the Longwood site and they have started work. Looks to be the residential phase and it's near the existing neighborhood that borders it to the north of the massive property.

This has been mentioned in a few other threads on UP...even with the anticipated population boom of post-Katrina this massive master-planned community was going to take at least 15 years to complete. Now in this questionable economy can only wonder how long this will take to build-out??

The fact that it has begun is a good sign. Only time will tell if all 17 phases get completed.
