Chick-fil-A

Just curious as to Chick-fil-A:

(1) I can remember McAlister Square having one as long as I can remember- at least since 1980 or probably even the late 1970s. Was that the first one in Greenville? (I also remember that the one in the parking lot is the first freestanding Chick-fil-A ever, from the early '90s.) I recall that there was a fast-food place at the center court of Bell Tower Mall; was that also a Chick-fil-A?

(2) Why hasn't Chick-fil-A tried another downtown location? The downtown one probably failed just because it was a terrible location, in the bottom of the Daniel Building. One at Riverplace or in a more visible location on North Main would do fine.

I loved that Chick-fil-a, even thought it was hidden in a cave. I guarantee that a new Chick-fil-a would KILL downtown.
